Miscellaneous Investigations 2024 -

My series Miscellaneous Investigations starts with found vintage maps of U.S. States that I paint with black gesso. With elevations as my guide I begin simultaneously covering and removing. Time slows down as the meticulous process unfolds. Thoughts of land use, climate change, man made borders and altering of the landscape through built environments and agriculture comes to mind. In a way, this is land art.
